"It's great to have some reading material at this level. The text includes both narratives and dialogues  that are interesting and not too difficult for a beginner to follow. It has been my experience that this kind of material is quite hard to find at the moment. I like how the author focuses on vocabulary that is relevant to everyday life, and I appreciate the cultural information that is sprinkled throughout the book."

"I have been looking for a good Finnish reader for beginners for a while. The ones that I found were either too difficult for me or so tediously boring that I wanted to kill myself. (This room has many windows. This room has many big windows. This room has many tables. This room has many small tables.) Finally, here is a reader that sticks to pretty basic vocabulary, but is actually not boring. Don’t get me wrong – Stephen King and J.K. Rowling don’t have anything to worry about. But some people are introduced and through short chapters you learn a little bit more about them and their friends and their activities. There is a glossary with some of the terms at the end of each chapter. Best of all, there are comprehension questions at the end of each chapter! These questions push me to process the language more deeply than just reading does. If you are a beginner trying to learn Finnish, I highly recommend this reader!"
